We are actively looking for a Systems Engineer who is attracted by the challenges of developing hardware systems for the silicon validation and prototyping of mixed-signal and digital ASICs for Automotive Ethernet. The position is located at our Automotive Center of Excellence in Ettlingen, near Karlsruhe, Germany.

As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for

·         Design and development of PCBs and FPGAs for silicon validation setups and pre-silicon prototypes.

·         Support for PCB layout and manufacturing.

·         Bring-up and debugging of the PCBs and FPGAs in the hardware laboratory using state-of-the-art lab equipment.

·         Collaboration on the PCB and FPGA specifications as well as the silicon validation concept.

·         Contribution to the silicon validation and root causing of identified issues.

You will interact with ASIC design and Software engineers to identify the required features to be supported by the silicon validation platform. In addition you will contribute to the system architecture providing input from a hardware and validation perspective.

·         The candidate should have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar qualification.

·         Good general knowledge of electronics and specifically hardware systems.

·         Knowledge in board level hardware design and schematics entry.

·         Knowledge in FPGA design and a hardware description language (Verilog or VHDL)

·         Experience in using lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol analyzer, etc.).

·         Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are essential.

·         Good communications skills in English, written and spoken.

·         Clear communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
