We are looking for a Sr. Silicon Validation Engineer to validate and characterize our ARM Server Processors.  Marvell Thunder X2 is the highest performance ARM server solution in the market, and Thunder X3 will continue that lead.


Engineer in this role will work on taking server class CPU products from first silicon to mass production. Key duties are:

  • Define and develop system level production tests for server class CPU products
  • Design and develop optimized frequency binning schemes
  • Analyze and improve overall product yield
  • Debug and root cause yield loss at SLT and ATE
  • Review RMA requests from customers and conduct failure analysis to root cause failures reported by customers.
  • Review DFT features of existing products to identify features and functions that can leveraged to optimize production testing.
  • Define and develop novel DFT features to optimize SLT and production testing for future products.
  • Identify opportunities for production test time reduction and DoE to validate test time reduction methods
  • Define qual requirements and support Qual activities (HTOL, ESD/Latchup etc)

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience OR Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in taking complex semiconductor products to mass production
  • Prior experience with Silicon (SOC, Processor, Memory) validation and characterization
  • Prior experience in defining and developing System Level Tests for CPUs/high performance SoCs
  • Prior experience in defining frequency/SKU binning schemes for CPUs
  • Prior experience in yield analysis, improvement and root cause yield loss at SLT and ATE
  • Prior experience in conducting failure analysis, including physical FA
  • Prior experience in defining DFT new features, utilizing existing DFT features to improve SLT/ATE test coverage and reduce test time.
  • Programming and script languages and automation experience
In addition, must have:
  • Effective interpersonal, relationship management and cross functional teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
  • Ability to interface internally and externally with all levels of the organization
  • Solid analysis and problem-solving skills and thinking out-of-the-box personality
  • Drive, initiative and inherent sense of urgency and accountability
