Marvell is looking for a Sr. Firmware Manager to be a part of our SSD design center in Orange County, CA. You will be part of a team which delivers complete SSD firmware solutions for next generation SSD products and work with the latest NAND technology.  As a Firmware Manager you will be working with cross functional teams on coordinating/directing projects while leading a team of developers. You will provide leadership to the firmware team in the design and development of new products and maintaining current products. Responsible for architecture, implementation, design review, design validation, and change control in accordance with the Project Life Cycle Process. 

Provide leadership to firmware team in the design and development of new products
Work with cross functional teams to define project specifications and procedures
Coordinate and direct projects, make detailed plans, risk assessments and mitigation plans and schedules to deliver on assigned goals
Monitor all critical paths related to the development and introduction of activities, anticipates and identifies bottlenecks, and escalates major problems and/or issues to management
Lead team meetings and publish meeting notes and schedules
Coordinate with other departments such as Hardware, Software and Quality Assurance to analyze and resolve problems 
Manage resources and ensure that development schedule is followed and the products meet the requirements
Coach and mentor team members for improved performance and growth

B. S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with extensive experience in embedded firmware development
Minimum ten years of embedded firmware development with at least five years in a management role
Excellent demonstrated development skills in C and C++ is desired. 
Extensive knowledge of computer and embedded system architecture, compliers, microprocessors and scripting languages
Excellent initiative, project and people management skills, strong leadership, good team player, quick learner, self-motivated to work independently, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with ARM based SOC architecture
Experience in an Agile development process
Experience with MS Project, Jira and Confluence
Experience interfacing with customers to define requirements and resolve issues
SSD firmware development experience with SATA, SAS, PCIe NVMe host interfaces, NAND Flash technology, and Flash Translation Layer (FTL) development is a big plus
