  Looking for a motivated Sr. Software QA Engineer to facilitate test & validation activities for 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wireless communications components for Marvell Semiconductor wireless network products.

  In this position, the candidate will be responsible for defining test requirements and test procedures, work with an existing team of individual contributors to test Marvell’s WiFi SoCs in Wireless access point reference designs. The candidate will be responsible for the execution of these testcases and tracking of WiFi product quality as an individual contributor within an existing the team of engrs.

  Tests includes functional, performance, interoperability, industry standard conformance test cases, pre-certification test cases, user scenario tests and a host of scaling and stability test cases. Focus will be on both enterprise wireless access points as well as consumer home wireless access points.

  The candidate will work closely with development engineers, validation engineers, application engineers, marketing personnel and in some cases directly with the customer to understand the specifics of the product, it’s requirements and intended usage to develop in-depth validation test plans and execute these test plans independently.

The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science with 5+ years of experience.

Additional qualifications include:

- Strong understanding of WIFI 802.11a/b/g/n/ac protocols and the ability to troubleshoot when needed to narrow down issues. Problem reporting should include a full analysis of test scenarios used and the issues found.

- The candidate should be very familiar with the use of tools like Wireshark or Omnipeek and be able to analyze sniffer traces and isolate problems based on information gathered from sniffer traces collected.

- The candidate must be very famliar with consumer home Wireless access points as well as enterprise wireless access points; the candidate should understand the usage of these devices, deployment scenarios and be able to translate this understanding into appropriate test cases that will in turn be used by the test team. Enterprise wireless networks require a very strong understanding of L2 & L3 networking which is a must.

- The candidate must possess an excellent knowledge of wired and wireless networking in general including Layer2 and Layer3 protocols like IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, TCP, UDP and be able to troubleshoot when necessary.

- The candidate must have a very good understanding of security mechanisms used in wireless access points including 802.1x used in enterprise wireless access points. Candidate should have experience working with Radius servers on Linux or Windows.

- A good understanding of WiFi 802.11 certification & regulatory DFS is a plus.

- Experience in scripting using TCL, Expect, Python & Perl is a must as the engineer should be able to create tools required in order to test or modify existing tools where required.

- The candidate should have strong written and verbal communications including the ability to document test plans, test results and to interpret test results into actionable recommendations.
