Senior Software Engineer – Design Automation
This role is with the System-on-Chip (SoC) Integration Group within the Internet Processor Business Unit (IPBU) located in Marlborough, MA. This BU is responsible for the multi-core ARM based embedded network, security and RF wireless (4/5G) processor products at Marvell. The SoC Integration Group performs full-chip and partition-level netlist generation, logical verification, emulation, DFT, physical design including timing and lab validation of the Octeon-TX family of devices. The position will work as part of a software team to define advanced high-end tools for internal use by hardware engineering teams within the SoC group.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Drive design automation for SOC related engineering functions and streamline data flows between disciplines and teams
  • Understand the requirements from the engineering teams and architecting tools that are scalable and easy to use.
  • Architect, implement, and test new tools to accelerate a wide range of SOC oriented design tasks such as:
    • Netlist creation, integration and quality checking
    • Physical design
    • Formal verification
    • Memory compilation
    • Regression environments 
    • Telemetry and Performance analysis
    • Architectural simulation and hardware modelling

Requirements:  
  • Experienced engineering tool and automation developer with a proven track record
  • Experience with front-end SOC development and tools such as Synopsys VCS and SystemC.
  • Experience with an HPC environment (LSF, SGE, other).
  • Expertise in Python and C++ .
  • Experience with object-oriented design and implementation.
  • Experience with unit-testing techniques and use of code quality tools
  • Experience developing in a continuous integration environment.
Other Skills: 
  • Must have effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Participate in problem solving and quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills.
Education: 
  • MS in CS/EE with 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
  • BS in CS/EE with 7+ years
