Marvell is looking for an experienced failure analysis engineer for our US based FA team. This position will cover all Marvell ICs across all our businesses with focus on automotive. The position requires of understanding of the IC fab, packaging, test and FA process.

Main Responsibilities:

·     Manage customer return FAs, from ATE and system/bench testing to fault isolation and physical FA, and generate 8D report.  

·     Ensure internal partners are fully aware of the thoroughness of an FA and the expected Turn Around Time (TAT), and drive over FA cycle time improvement.

·     Ensure we meet Marvell’s automotive customer FA TAT and 8D report quality commitment

·     Work closely with CQEs to communicate FA report to customers and join customer meetings/conference all as needed  

·     Effectively manage external physical FA labs to deliver PFA results to meet Marvell’s quality and TAT expectations

·     Drive corrective action implementations for the root causes found in customer FAs

·     Help to improve FA processes and systems to run this function more effectively


·     8D problem solving / quality management process expert

·     Detailed Component level FA knowledge: failure reproduction, EFA, PFA

·     Familiar with problem solving tools like Ishikawa and 5 Whys

·     Familiar with quality management tools like FMEA and 8D assessment  

·     Clear communicator engaging internal engineering and field teams to implement containment & corrective actions

·     Excellent writing skills, able to generate high quality reports and presentation to detail findings of the FA to both internal and external stakeholders

·     Ability to escalate within Marvell to get the right attention and resources

·     Strong team player,  with demonstrated ability to effectively influence within a dynamic matrix environment

·     High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a collaborative environment

·     BS engineering degree. EE preferred

·     10 plus years of Semiconductor industry experience in an engineering role

·     3 plus years of Automotive customer FA experience

·     Product engineering experience is a plus

·     Capability to participate in technical engagement with end customers desirable
