Job Description & Responsibilities

The Marvell Connectivity Program Management team is looking for an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) that would lead the planning and execution phases of the product development cycle.  The EPM is responsible for successful product development in both milestones and budget.

As the EPM, you will drive completion of the Product Requirements Document (PRD) between engineering and marketing, as well as drive resource and schedule planning.  You will work with project analysts to construct detailed project schedules and manage schedule vs. resource/budget/feature tradeoffs.  During the execution phase, you will drive cross-functional engineering teams to meet product requirements and scheduled commitments.   You will be responsible for managing project meetings, holding design reviews, tracking schedules, and working with the various technical leads to ensure issues and blockers are resolved in a timely manner.  You will work closely with the NPI Project Manager to ensure fab and package assembly logistics are handled to meet schedules.  You will also manage the communication of project status to project and executive teams with regards to schedule, technical issues, resource issues, risk assessments, and budget spending.

The Engineering Program Manager role includes the following responsibilities:

·    Drive timely Engineering completion of the project requirement documents (PRD), Plan-of-Record (POR) and Mass Production Readiness (MPR) Approvals.

·    Drive quarterly Executive project reviews with quality presentations

·    Demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership with ability to coordinate and motivate teams across multiple development sites.

o   Lead and coordinate deliverables such as documents, chip samples, and product evaluation/development platforms with Marketing PLMs

o   Drive engineering execution across system algorithm team, silicon designers, software designers, and system hardware teams

o   Drive back-end and operations teams to ensure project milestones are met

·        Run in-design reviews and ensure compliance to development                  checklists.

·        Communicate effectively to the project team up through executive            management teams.

·        Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Project                              Management and budget spending.



·        5-7 years of experience as an engineering design manager or                 architect in wireless chipset development

·        3-5 years of experience as an engineering project manager or                  technical leader with proven experience in coordinating engineering        teams to consistently hit aggressive schedules

·        Strong knowledge of chip development flows including digital and            Analog/RF engineering design, verification, and validation processes

·        Strong working knowledge of wireless communication techniques and      standards including WLAN and Bluetooth

·        Strong organizational and project tracking skills

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        MSEE/Ph.D degree
