We are looking for a Sr. Hardware Technician to help validate and characterize our ARM Server Processors power management.  Marvell Thunder X2 is the highest performance ARM server solution in the market, and Thunder X3 will continue that lead.
 
We are looking for someone who will:
  • Assemble and configure reference platform servers and characterization test platforms
  • Load operating system and CPLD, FLASH devices, power controllers and clock device images both in circuit and through out of band fixtures
  • Configure test programs per test plans and launch and monitor test execution.
  • Organize and maintain stock of test samples, subsystem components, and test platforms
  • Set up, connect, and obtain accurate measurements using oscilloscopes, precision multimeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Read printed circuit board schematics and board layout programs to locate test points and trace interconnections
  • Assist in debug of circuit boards with guidance of design and characterization engineers
  • Create and maintain test logs and write reports stored in shared directory spaces.
  • Assemble, maintain and debug characterization systems in the lab – motherboards, voltage regulator modules, storage devices (SATA, USB etc.)
  • Assemble, maintain and debug thermal control systems in lab
  • Collect data across multiple stations per instructions from engineers
  • Post process, review and summarize data logs per instructions from engineers
  • Maintain inventory of   characterization units, boards, accessories and thermal systems


     




  • AS degree with more than 7 years of hands-on work experience as hardware technician in an engineering lab environment.
  • Confident with Linux operating system environment and commands.
  • Strong skills executing and monitoring tests from operating system and test scripts.
  • Functional understanding of power and digital IO circuits and devices.
  • Good troubleshooting skills to isolate component issues from interpreting diagnostics and schematics.
  • Understanding of oscilloscope and probe types and how to match to measurements required  
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
  • Able to embed test equipment data capture images in test reports and spreadsheets
  • Soldering skills to enable reliable fine pitch test point/probe attachment
  • Knowledge of ESD protection procedures
  • Organized, detail oriented and methodical in approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
