Marvell Semiconductor is experiencing tremendous growth Data Center Storage Solutions . We are interested in adding additional dimension to our senior level marketing group in the area of product definition, product planning and strategy.

We are looking to hire a technical product manager to help accelerate our innovation in storage solutions for servers and storage systems, and help to continue and establish Marvell as a prominent player in solving problems around storage virtualization, storage disaggregation and increasing the system efficiency with new flash/NAND, storage-class-memory (SCM) and fabric (NVMeoF) technologies.

The candidate should have experience with technologies and trends around SSDs, SCMs, virtualization, hypervisors, NVMe and NVMe over fabric, and storage services (encryption, security, deduplication, erasure coding).

The candidate will be responsible for researching and defining storage solutions, and will work closely with customers’ system, architecture, hardware and software teams to help define and use Marvell’s solutions.  We are looking for someone who has close working relationships with our key customers and can understand the needs or a technical problem a customer faces, and can propose a product that can solve that problem.  The candidate will be responsible for taking the proposed storage solution concepts and producing a Product Definition.  This document serves two functions; first, it must supply all technical requirements needed to design the product and second, it must justify why this product will ‘win’ in the marketplace.  In preparation of this document, the Product Definer works closely with the customer, engineering, product marketing, sales and our application engineering organization.

The product definer role is highly valued at Marvell and our product definers receive considerable recognition for their work.  The successful applicant will become part of a close-knit winning team.

Job Description:

Marvell is seeking a principle  product definer to define products and bring it to production by engaging with customers, internal cross functional teams and field.

The successful Product Definer candidate combines in depth knowledge of enterprise and cloud storage applications with system level knowledge to help anticipate future application needs to drive highly innovative product definitions and to establish credibility and deep rooted relationships with the customer.  The successful applicant will become part of a close-knit winning team.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Listen, fully understand and anticipate the needs of our current and prospective customers
Define a product roadmap and ensure that we have a plan for sustainable differentiation in the product category
Produce and maintain system level block diagram and identify key system level problems and product opportunities for Marvell
Produce Product Definition documents
Work closely with design, business management, sales management and the customer throughout the product development process to ensure product development and customer’s engagement remains on track
Evaluate products in the lab and provide technical support to design in the products at Tier-1 customers
Communicate with the rest of the Marvell team so that everyone is fully informed
Work with product marketing and engineering to assure we have both a solid business case as well as a sound technical solution
Research competitive solutions and devise better ones
Creatively solve customer problems; avoid non-competitive ‘me-too’ approaches
Author preliminary data sheets
Create and deliver compelling, targeted customer presentations
